Hypermobility Syndrome Physiotherapy

If you are reading this then you are probably all too aware of what hypermobility syndrome is and the effect it has on your body, your mental health and your life. Maybe you are looking for joint hypermobility treatment from a hypermobility specialist.

What is hypermobility syndrome?

Put simply Hypermobility syndrome (including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) refers to joints that move beyond the normal range. This is due to connective tissues being more lax than would normally be expected. While many people may have at least one hypermobile joint, generalised joint hypermobility affects multiple joints.

Common symptoms & challenges

  • often get tired, even after rest

  • keep getting pain and stiffness in your joints or muscles

  • keep getting sprains and strains

  • keep dislocating your joints (they "pop out")

  • have poor balance or co-ordination

  • have thin, stretchy skin

  • have bladder or bowel problems

Bespoke treatment programs are essential for hypermobility syndrome - focusing on all aspects of health and wellbeing:
Physical, Mental & Emotional

James Rind - Hypermobility Physiotherapist

Hello, I am James Rind. I am a Chartered Physiotherapist with over 25 years of clinical experience in a very wide range of clinical environments. Working in hospitals, companies, primary care and with sports teams, I have assessed and treated hundreds of people with hypermobility syndrome. From initial diagnosis in their teens, to leaning to manage their condition in their mid-twenties and to developing strategies when they discover they have HMS amongst other conditions later in life.

My approach is very holistic. We will naturally work through the physical aspects of HMS (strengthening, core stability and pain management), however no human is simply physical. Your mental and emotional wellbeing will have a direct influence on how you manage this long term condition. I support you to discover more about these aspects of yourself and offer practical techniques and lifestyle habits that aim to offer you more control of your symptoms. Find out more about me here...
